According to the new guidelines, now people who purchase property coming under the development authority, industrial belt and special development authorities in urban areas will also be able to avail of interest subsidy under the PMH scheme. In the new guideline, the properties under the Port Development Authority will also be included in coastal cities.
First time in the urban area under the PM Housing Scheme, the benefit of the subsidy on the interest is given to those who buy the house. Sources say that the government had received information that some banks are refusing to lend the money in subsidy on interest under the PMH scheme for buying a home in certain areas of urban areas. According to the information, 2 private banks, including Noida, were refusing to lend money in the purchase of property under this scheme in nearly 100 cities.
A government officer said, “We have come to know about many incidents in which banks have questioned the validity of such authorities who have recognized the housing projects, which were not the notified development authority. It is our endeavor to get the benefits of this scheme to more and more people. For this, necessary changes are being made in the guidlines. ‘ Let us know that in this scheme, the government had made some necessary changes even in July.
