DDA Janta Flat will be part of past in Delhi from next year. Old ones will keep going, but new ones will not be found. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to not make the public flat. They will now be replaced by EWS Flat. Not only this, the idea of building flat in the future is also seriously considered on 3D technology.
The area of Janta flats is 20 to 28 square meters. In this area there is a small room, a bathroom and a kitchen. Therefore, in the residential scheme of 2014, a large number of successful applicants returned flat. At the same time, the area of EWS flat is being kept for 25 to 35 square meters in accordance with the standards set for the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. This is the reason why the DDA has finished the category of Janta flats from the next residential plan and has been preparing to place it in the EWS category instead. DDA believes that when the public can be given better facilities at lower cost then there is no justification for making the people flat and planning.
Along with changing times the needs of the public are also changing. That is why now the people do not fit the criteria of flat applicants. Our idea is to improve the area of public flats to make EWS flat. As far as 3D technology is concerned, the Union Urban Development Ministry is working fast on this. Three to four workshops have also happened. We are also considering adopting this technique. This technique is very fit especially for making ready-made houses. We hope that in nearly a year we will be able to work on this technique.
