The Central Government is thinking seriously about promoting environmentally friendly homes ‘Green Homes’. To develop a green housing society, the government will provide facilities like cheap loans and lower registration fees. The center is thinking of developing such residential colonies in order to fight climate change.Lets tell you that the homes of Green Homes are those which are developed keeping in mind the environment. These are effectively used in the environment from energy, water resources and building materials.
Official sources said that only for the promotion of Green Homes, the rules and regulations related to it, ie Energy Conservation Building Code for Residential Sector (ECBC-R) have been prepared. These rules are on the lines of codes related to government and commercial buildings in 2007. Energy Minister Piyush Goyal can present ECBC-2017 on Monday. It can be considered as a major step towards eco-friendly construction in the Indian realty sector.
The sources said the Bureau of Energy Efficient (BEE) working under the Ministry of Energy is working on a plan. The purpose of this (BEE) is to promote such homes where effective use of energy can be used. That means less demand for resources can be developed for lighting or cooling. Under this effort, in the current residential buildings, the use of new equipment is to encourage less and effective use of energy.
The idea of promoting solar projects on rooftops in the residential sector is also being considered on the lines of the same idea of the central government. These projects have been brought under the purview of Home Loans with low interest rates. Sources agreed that the government is still working towards Green Homes and there is a lot to be decided. The purpose of the whole exercise is to reduce carbon emissions. It is believed that ECBC-R will also promote the government’s Make in India campaign. This is because it will increase the demand for resources and services that use less energy in homes.
lets tell you that the Ujala Scheme from the Modi Government is a step taken in the direction of better utilization of energy resources. Under this scheme the government has replaced old filamented and CFL bulbs with modern LED lights. Government efforts are expected to get new strength through ECBC-R in view of increasing urban scope and environmental impact. It also gives full scope for creating jobs in the property sector.
